Paper City Project PHOTOS!

I'm so excited to finally get some pics up! Been working hard for most of the semester on this project for 3D design and spent countless hours designing, printing, cutting, folding, and gluing.. so here it is! The whole thing is made out of Epson Premium Matte Presentation Paper printed on ink jet printers.

Essentially, I designed a Mardi Gras parade consisting of four floats, each representing a vice and virtue as it applies to the season of Carnival and Lent. The first float introduces this theme with a jester/angel leading the parade. Following are the floats representing meat consumption, sex, and alcohol. All of the floats have two opposing views and the idea is to show the two sides and pose the question: is one side better than the other? or can vice and virtue be interchangeable?

the whole parade

VICE side

VIRTUE side

interchanged

parade leader - half jester half angel

meat float - half carnivore half vegetarian

sexy float - half desire half abstinence

alcohol float - half booze half cleanse

Paper City Project

So for my 3D Design class we're designing paper cities... as in cities, places, or things made completely out of paper. I'm really excited for this project, especially since I'm making a mini Mardi Gras parade! The concept behind my project has to do with vice vs. virtue and the choices and decisions we make on a day to day basis concerning these ideas. These are some postcards I designed, playing around with different typefaces, graphics, images, translations, and color palettes I may use in my final project.

Preeeetyy sunset =]

View from Kelsey Island in Branford, CT. So gorgeous.

Just a little something

...that I designed quickly for my brother. It was his 1 year anniversary with his girlfriend and he put a slideshow together for her. I was recruited to design the DVD cover so this is what I came up with! They're really cute.

Hollywood Hunks

So my best friend's birthday is next week and I thought it would be a cool idea to make her a set of cards that feature all her Hollywood crushes. Included in the set of cards is a warning card to caution viewers of the "steaminess" they are about to view... and of course I had to make a card of myself to throw in there just for fun ;P
